I knew it was going to be one of the most difficult things that I had ever agreed to, the day I said I would be maid of honor for my best friend. My first duty as her main attendant was to find a marriage celebrant in Mackay, Queensland. Not an easy task when you live thousands of miles across the ocean.

I did manage to find one though, who suggested to me that beach weddings were very popular there and that we should consider one. I talked to Sadie about it and she agreed that, as long as we had everything planned, the beach would be fine.

I got some brochures from a travel agent regarding the perfect wedding location. She found us a beautiful cove and we both knew right away that it was perfect. We got that all taken care of. There is still plenty to do, but as the time for the trip gets closer and closer, I become a little bit happier that I am doing my part to make this a perfect day for her.
