Training to Sell Car Insurance

Our firm recently decided to expand their operations to include insurance products on top of the many financial services that we already offered.  I suppose this was a natural market for them to jump into as most of our existing services would be complimentary to the cheap auto insurance that we would be selling.

But this meant that we would have to take additional training to know how to properly sell vehicle insurance to our clients.  We learned the difference between regular and classic car insurance, how to properly quote a cheap car insurance rate, and how to utilize the new system that included the automotive insurance.

It will be a bumpy couple of weeks as we start selling our automotive insurance to the public, but I don’t mind having another product that I can sell and get a recurring commission.

Moving Means Changing Insurance Providers

Since I will be moving shortly, I have decided that I would do as much research as I could in terms of the insurance policies I will need.  Unfortunately, I will be leaving the province, which means my current auto insurance and home insurance provider will need to be changed.

Thankfully, the Internet allows us to view pretty much whatever we want, so I have been looking online to see what companies are out in Ontario for car and home insurance.  If you are wondering what kind of search that you would need to do to find out for yourself, you can put the type of insurance followed by the province that you will be moving to.

For example, since I am moving to Ontario, I can do a search for “home insurance Ontario“.  From the results that show up, I will be able to find companies in Ontario that offer home insurance.

From these sites, I can request quotes and figure out which provider to go with.  It is much easier to make an educated guess this way.

Feeling Better About the Move

When my husband and I were making a move to another state, one of things that we were concerned about was the effect that it was going to have on our auto insurance.  We had a really good deal where we lived and we were hoping that the move would not have a negative effect on that.

We decided that the best thing we could do was to get auto insurance quotes before we moved. We got quotes from several companies and we were relieved to see that we would not be paying a whole lot more than we were before.

It made me feel far more at ease about the move because we have several friends that have moved and they have ended up getting hosed on car insurance. Once I knew that was alright and once other things started to fall into place, I felt good about the whole thing.

Getting Quotes Online

I can remember the old days of getting insurance quotes and I realize now that it was a lot harder back in those days.  There was just so much paperwork that you needed to do without any guarantee of approval.

What made it worse is that you had to wait.  And wait some more.  In fact, by today’s standards, waiting for a California Medicare Supplement quote would have been unacceptable.  In fact, if it was still like that, there would be public outrage.

But now, with the dawning of the Internet, we no longer have to wait anymore.  Thankfully, we can just apply online and get instant gratification with a “yes” or a “no”.  No more waiting and no more patience required.

Speaking of that, I should probably get an insurance quote or two - it is almost time for me to renew.

Looking to Get Insured

I have never had a car before, so I was super excited to be buying my first one. It is not brand new, but it is nice and it still has reasonably low miles on it. It is the perfect starter car for me and I absolutely love it. One of the things my dad said I needed to do before he would help me get the car was to get a car insurance quote.

I decided that I would go a step further than that and get several auto insurance quotes. I figured that I may as well pay as little as I have to. It was already going to be quite a drain on my budget just owning the car and I figured I would go with the lowest possible rate for insurance that I could.

I talked to this one guy who was totally confused. He could barely speak English and kept trying to give me a home insurance quote. I gave up on that company really fast. I took the list of quotes to my dad and we made a decision together. We did not decide to go with the lowest quote, as there were a few that had better coverage than that one. I did get a good deal though.
