What’s the Difference Between a Limo and a Fancy Car?

Well, for one thing a limo is much more than just a high priced car with all the bells and whistles. A true limo has been customized in several ways. Some limos are way over the top while most are just stretched or have added seating inside.

One main difference is that a limo will have a divider between driver and passengers such as a tinted window or solid divider behind the drivers seat that can be raised and lowered at the passenger’s discretion. Communication is possible between driver and passenger through an intercom or lowering the divider.

Limos are not just for the rich and famous any more. Many business people employ a car and driver to get back and forth to the office or to take clients out for dinner and special events. Many regular people use a limo for special occasions like weddings and proms.

Keen Student

I was teaching a class on natural cellular defense and I had a student who was particularly keen on the subject. She seemed to know the answers to all of the questions I asked and I knew that se was either going to be someone who listened and did really well in the class or someone who would drive me crazy, thinking that she knew more on the subject than I did.

I decided to ask her to stay after class and find out which one it was going to be. I found out why she knew so much on the subject and it really surprised me. She was a distributor of liquid Zeolite and, to obtain higher sales, she immersed herself in everything about it in order to be able to answer and questions potential customers may have.

I was actually really impressed that she had taken the initiative to learn about it, rather than just try to scam people into buying it. In fact, I think I am now one of her best customers.

Popping the Question

When my boyfriend and I had been dating for two years, he suggested that it was time for us to start looking at engagement rings. I was certainly not going to argue with this, but I also knew that it could be awhile before he actually popped the question.

As he is very structured and organized person, I knew that he probably already had the exact date, time and place figured out and I would never know when it was going to happen. I did agree to go and look at rings with him and we had such a good time doing this together.

While we were browsing, we both decided that we liked the solitaire rings better than the other ones. I had always wanted a solitaire and he just liked the way it looked on my finger.

He asked me to marry him a few months later and we are getting ready to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary.

Making the Move Bearable

A few years ago, my husband and I were lucky enough to be able to sell our home in the city and move to an acreage. It was something that we had always dreamed of doing, and though it took longer than we had originally planned, it was a great move for us.

Shortly after the move, we found out that the company that my husband works for had some bouncy castles for sale. We thought that, since we now had the room, it would be a wonderful addition to our yard for our children. The move had been a little bit tough on them, as they had to go to a new school and make new friends, and we thought that this might be just the thing to cheer them up.

When we brought it home and started setting it up, the look of sheer joy on my daughter’s face, as she saw the inflatable slides, made the decision well worth it.

File Sharing Through Mobile Devices

If you are a tech junkie or even just like to keep up with the most current gadgets, you probably know how to use your mobile phone or other equipment to look at websites on line share email and do other things like file sharing.

Well, did you know that you can actually set up your own mini site of sorts that can be viewed by almost anyone worldwide both on mobile devices and a computer - and it is free? Well, you can! There are several ways to do it and a few reliable companies out there as well.

One of the fun features of this type of mobile website is the mobile file sharing option. It makes sharing files of all sorts really easy. You could share with your relatives across the world or your friend down the street. It would be a great way for you set up information or offer a family a way to take a poll on the next family picnic site.

My Uncle, the Tipster

My uncle goes to the horse track once a week, every week. He’s only missed one time and that was for the birth of cousin.

My aunt says he is addicted but only when he isn’t winning. I don’t know where he gets his horse racing tips, but he really does well most of the time and has been able to pay for quite a few extras over the years.

I’ve often wondered why he isn’t a horse racing tipster himself. After years and years of experience on the track, he could certainly share a thing or two about racing tips. He loves his day job though, and wouldn’t dream of giving up his business.

He was able to pay off their flat and buy a summer home in the country where we all stay for several weeks in the off season. While it isn’t something I’ve been interested in, he certainly has made a life of it.

Special Grandpa

My dad is the type of person who likes to tinker. He can usually be found in his shop building some kinds of gadgets and gizmos for his grandchildren. He is extremely creative and he always seems to be able to build something out of a pile of rubbish.

He built a motorized canoe out of old washing machine parts and he built my son a ride on train using black stovepipe. I think it is great that the kids will have these “treasures” that were made just for them by Grandpa with love.

My son loves to hang out with his grandpa in the shop. One day they built a wooden airplane that could really fly and Josh had a blast with it. It was so special to him because it was something that he had created himself and he took such pride in it.

The kids are lucky to have such a wonderful grandpa and I think that one day they will realize just how special he is.

Worry Wort Mom

I’m dreading the day my pacifist daughter makes a right turn down a road I’d rather she didn’t follow. We all have these nightmares as parents. And we never know what might trigger them.

There are many roads I worry about, but then I have an over-active imagination. It comes of being a fiction writer and envisioning scenarios of people in circumstances of just about anything I could…well, imagine.

Right now her big love, other than being in art college, has been and continues to be animé, Japanese animation. Think Pokémon, Digimon, Fushigi Yuugi and the like.

Every moment of her spare time is filled with brainstorming fan fiction stories. So for now, I’m not really worried. As long as she doesn’t start sporting tattoos and body piercings or asking for me to buy her the latest MMA clothing because she’s suddenly into mixed martial arts big time, then I probably don’t really have anything to worry about. But without something to worry about, what’s a long-distance mom supposed to do?

"Say Something Soft and Sweet"

For those of you who aren’t musical comedy buffs, as I am, the title is a quote from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Carousel.” Carrie Pipperidge, best friend of the female lead Julie, is an airhead. Carrie has upset her fiancé’s sense of dignity by doing something that could have sullied her reputation.

Enoch Snow is a fisherman with aspirations of owning a fishing fleet and is full of himself. Wheedling her way back into his good graces, Carrie pleads, “Oh, Enoch. Say something soft and sweet!” He turns away and solemnly intones, “Boston Cream Pie!” To which Carrie wails, “Oh, Enoch!” and runs off, leaving her fiancé befuddled, but still huffy.

Well, okay, perhaps your eyes are glazing over because musical theatre isn’t your “thing.” Sorry. It has been my passion since I was 14. While classmates of mine were dreaming of selling water softeners or becoming astronauts or running for president, I wanted to be Julie Andrews, Barbra Streisand and Shirley Jones. Musical theatre songs and dialogue will live on in my memory as long as the brain cells hold out. May it be long!

What the Heck is Futures Trading?

I’ve heard so much about futures trading, the stock market and commodities lately that I decided to try and figure out what they heck it is all about. This is not a simple, easy or fun subject for me. It involves math and abstract ideas both of which are hard for me to “get” clearly some times.

From what I’ve gathered though, futures trading involves the buying and selling of items that never get delivered to you. Sounds fishy, huh? Apparently it isn’t and thousands of people worldwide make and lose fortunes by doing it.

It is something that must be learned, I’m sure, and I’ll keep reading because the thought of it is interesting to me. I read business magazines since I’m a small business owner and understand that trading future prices of stock can be a lucrative or devastating thing to do for both the business and the trader.
