2009 Mercedes Benz SL63 AMG Roadster. Power at your disposal

Is there a perfect mix between a sports car and a touring vehicle?  Well there didn’t used to be, but the 2009 Mercedes SL63 aimed to change all that.

It was always going to be a tough act to repeat the success of the SL55, but the SL63 does that withou a hassle.

This car is not lightweight literally as it scales at over two tons. Nor is it light weight in terms of luxuries.

Zero to 60 in just under four second due to the mighty 500 hp unit.Paying close to $150 000 means a buyer has every right to have high expectations.

It’s not just the competition from other car managers that the SL63 had managed to handle in direct comparison. This car is quicker than the SL55 by one tenth of a second thanks to 20hp more.  This slight advantage (even with the SL63 carrying extra poundage over the SL55), helps put to rest the fear that the latest in the AMG line wouldn’t stack up to the “super” car in the luxury class.

What a car. Competitors will find it difficult to challenge at the same price. With many point that Merc would like to boast about one cannot leave out the hard top that folds down in under 20s.

The interior, as is customary with any Benz, is borderline space age when it comes to comfort in the cockpit. The usual suspects for a luxury vehicle are present: seat adjustments, navigation system, seats with neck warmers.

This Mercedes has superior power, superior handling and superior driver comfort – it is far and away the top of its class – in fact, at this moment it’s the only car in its class. This new car makes it difficult for competitors who had any hopes of topping the class.

Maserati GranTurismo MC unveiled during the FIA GT

By: iCar Automotive News

Ain’t she just beautiful. The new Maserati GranTurismo MC will be officially unveiled during the FIA GT before the press at the Paul Ricard circuit. This new model is an offshoot of the Maserati GranTurismo MC Concept introduced last September in Monza and based on the Maserati GranTurismo S road version, with electro-actuated gearbox system.

People could aready acquintance with the new Maserati on 17 and 18 March when it participated in the “Balance of performance”, two days of practices organized by SRO at the Paul Ricard circuit in order to analyze and balance the performance of the models that will be racing in the GT4 European Cup.

A Maserati GranTurismo MC entered by a private team is to participate in some GT4 European Cup events during the second half of this season.

A limited series of the Maserati GranTurismo MC produced for gentlemen drivers who wish to race in the 2010 GT4 European Cup and the national series, will be on sale as of October 2009. The indicative price of the new Maser is 135,000 Euro + VAT. Sales go directly through Maserati Corse.

In 2010 Maserati intends to once again organize a European single-make cup race. The cars participating in this Cup shall naturally present specifications that will set them apart from the GT4-version GranTurismo MCs.

Maserati chose to create a model with GT4 features because GT4 is the category with the closest links to production models. There is a niche of GranTurismo road car owners who love racing and want to be able to test their mettle on a track driving a racing version of the same model they own.

The Maserati GranTurismo MC is the result of a development work carried out during many test sessions that started in the Summer of 2008.

Various drivers have taken turns developing the Maserati GranTurismo MC Concept from which the Maserati GranTurismo MC stemmed.  With their strong professional and racing background, each and every one of them contributed to the creation of the final version.

The predominant part of the fine-tuning work was conducted by Andrea Bertolini, official Maserati tester as well as incumbent FIA GT Champion at the wheel of the MC12.

Bertolini worked together with Thomas Cremonini, Maserati series production tester, and Vitaphone Racing Team teammate Michael Bartels, also 2008 FIA GT champion.

During the most recent tests, the Maserati GranTurismo MC with GT4 specs was also tested by former F.One race car pilot Ivan Capelli.

Antique Classic Car Insurance: A Few Quick Tips

So if you want to get antique classic car insurance, then you are going to want to make yourself educated first and foremost. If you go into something like this without a clue, there is no way that you are going to be able to get the results that you are looking for here. Now there are a few quick tips in particular that are going to be helpful for you if you are looking to get antique car insurance, and which you are definitely going to want to keep in mind.

It is the Law To Have Antique Car Insurance

Before you even get started, you need to know that getting antique car insurance is not just some decision that you have made, it is the law. Regardless of where you may be driving, if you are going to be driving an antique collector car then you are going to need to have the appropriate antique car insurance.

Be Prepared to Pay For Antique Car Insurance

Of course you know that you are going to have to pay for your antique car insurance, but if this is your first time getting car insurance then you are going to need to be prepared probably more than you assumed, because insurance for first time drivers will likely be expensive.

They basically want to be able to see what sort of payment history you have and so if you are a new insurance driver then you are going to probably have to pay more than you would expect at first.

Make and Model of Car

If you are looking for antique car insurance you also need to know that the make and model of the car to be insured is going to have an effect on the amount of money that you are going to be paying. Insurance works this way because the companies base the rate of insurance upon theft rates, and likelihood of collision.

Make sure that you take the time to compare between a few different insurance companies so that you are going to be able to get the best rate. Cost of insurance is more high if you are a new driver and so you are going to need to save money anywhere you can. You will not find getting car insurance a difficult task, as long as you have a clue as to what you are doing and have tolerance and make sure that you are trading with the right company.
